I was there & believe me there is more to the story than what is printed by the paper. They were 8hrs over there call out time. They also were to confused to figure out how to get out of the cave. I will not say the reason but you can kind of get the picture why.

Yeah that should pay for it plus some of the other bills . My Lifeflight bill was just over $10,000 but my insurance paid for it . Glad to see he is back at work.

In thinking back on Gerald Moni's rescue at McBride's Cave I do seem to recall him saying that he had to pay for the LifeFlight helicopter to evac him to the hospital after the rescue team brought him out of the cave. Yeah those chopper rides are not free. My ride last yr was over $10,000

Hey Joe sorry I have not been able to post your pics yet but something is wrong with my email at yahoo. It will not let me respond to anybody or download your pics. From the looks of them pics I bet that was no fun trip out of the cave. Tonight is our local training night. I am going over pt packaging with them.

Nah I was not in the video. I was the 2nd team in & only came out for about 45 min when I brought out the victim I found. Then they sent me back in as a Evac team leader for the other pt. Only me & 2 other cavers had the longest time under ground according to IC.

We are having a blast!!!!!! Not to toot my own horn or anything but I found out yesterday that I was the only one out of 24 level 3's to get a perfect score on the entry level check offs. We just got back from running a highline across a small river. That my wife be the pt. She is pumped!!!!

Not after the his cat attacked him the night before ;D
Yeah it was not a cave rescue but he would have died had we not gotten him down. He had no way to get down. It was on the big bluff behind the hatchery.

Saturday night about 8pm while we were cleaning up from our chili supper fund raiser ( Normandy Vol. Fire Dept). We had a man stop by & tell us of a dog that was stuck on a small cliff above the duck river. The guy said that he was floating down the river trout fishing when he heard the dog barking from some 20 ft above him. He said that he could tell that the dog was on a very small ledge & that some rappelling gear was going to be needed to retrieve him. He told us that he spent the next hour trying to call the dog down before it got to dark & he had to go. He said if we could get permission from the land owners above the bluff then we could just about drive to the edge of the bluff above the dog. I got all my gear together real fast & we headed out to try & get permission for the access to the bluff. After finding the right house we were unable to get ahold of the landowners so I decided we would wait till morning to put a boat in the water & float down to the dog. I new of a spot that was not far from where he was saying the dog was that would allow me to climb up above the dog then rappel down to him . About 45 min into the float we came up on the dog setting about 20' above the river. We went on down to the spot I talked about for access & me& a buddy went up above the dog. We found a BFT to anchor my rope on & I geared up. This was my first time to rappel with a life vest on under my chest harness. There were alot of trees along the way down to the dog that were just sticking out of the rock face. I was able to make it down to the dog with no problems. You could tell that there was sign that the dog had been there for a couple of days. He was in pretty good shape considering. I was able to make a makeshift harness for him out of some of my webbing & lower him down the last 20' to the water. The guys at the bottom got him & then placed him in the boat for the ride down the rest of the river trip. I decided to go ahead & rappel the rest of the way down instead of climbing back up through all them little trees. We made it back to the trucks with the dog & got a fisherman there to take a pic of us with the dog. There was no tag or anything on the dogs collar so one of the guys in on the rescue is keeping him at his house until we find the owners. Sorry it was so long This is me putting the harness on the dog. The dog after he made it down. Me almost at the bottom. Happy group pic at the end of rescue.
