Do they require 3 points on the rope or just a third ascender(QAS) to assist in passing a nasty lip(s)? Personsally, if I was REQUIRED to have a third point ON ROPE with my frog setup...I think I'd skip the trip and go to a different cave. Just my opinion. I agree. If you have a cows tail & prusik you can have your 3rd point of attachment for getting over nasty lips too.

Little off topic..... I've been wondering if a 'chinese finger trap' type device might work as a rappel device/auto lock. I know it's a kinda wacky idea ....but I'm trying to think of something that hasn't been tried before. No idea what material it would be made out of or if it would even work. One thing...if it COULD be made to work, you could travel down a loaded rope too. It almost sounds like a prusik.

I was bored the other day so I decided to get the kids out in the yard & build a small version of a Tyrolean Traverse. It was about 100' long & I used 2 BFT for my anchors. One end was 15' up & the other was 7' up. I used a 4:1 jigger to pull out the slack in the top line & used a Munter to capture my progress. It also allowed me to lower the person to the ground. Here are a few pics my wife took. Hope yall enjoy! I wish she would have gotten one of the whole system.
