Again….
Christian, I’LL never be jealous of some one who can’t get their facts straight! Couldn’t care less about your 5 trips. I’m the one who has been able to do that cave for the pure ENJOYMENT of it. That cave and a lot of others all over the Northeast. Just for fun NOT fame.
I said how many times before that it was great that you got the bones. To bad you couldn’t report it accurately. It’s great that you can be proud of misleading the news media and telling untruths. You see, if you read my initial posts, I blamed them until your conscience brought out your FURY at me for setting the record straight. One needs only to reread the posts. (I strongly suggest that some of you reading these posts should do just that.) I blamed them for not getting their facts straight. That’s when you decided to attack me.
You spent three weeks pumping me and your other relatives for facts about your "documentary". Strange you couldn’t get any right for the press! It’s quite obvious I’m not the one looking for FAME. Read my posts. Credit where credit is due. Pretty simple, right? Your FACE. You told me, to my FACE it was going to be factual! WHAT HAPPENED?? Read the news paper articles.
I told people around here back in November what I thought you’re intentions were. They agreed with me. You are now proving it for me. So don’t be ashamed of me. I’m not ashamed for telling facts and wanting the news to tell the truth! I’m not the one looking for fame.
This cave is one of the most beautiful and challenging caves around. To bad the bones weren’t removed 41 years ago. Hundreds of cavers have been denied this cave by what took place then. "MERE" inches and hundreds of cavers would have been able to experience this cave.
Personally, I don’t like the limelight or being around crowds of people (your relatives will attest to that fact), but you saw fit to drag me into this because of those first two posts. Sorry but I could not then sit back and let you attack people ( your grandfather, Clark, me) who truly loved caves and caving.
As far as negativity, it was brought on by you, because I wanted the true facts to be told to the caving community. You should feel terrible. Serious cavers want to hear the truth about their cave trips- not fish stories. Hence the mapping and yes picture taking. Never knew a real caver who didn't enjoy the pictures of their past trips. Or for that matter sitting around a campfire and telling factual stories of their exploits.
I must admit that I am getting tired of correcting the untruths and being attacked for it. I read Bill M’s thank you in the paper. I just wonder how many true facts he knows. Some of the bones are back with the family-GREAT-(I’ve said that before). Did that due anything positive for the cave? Nope, aside from the fact that it is now wide open and every kid for miles around now knows where it is, and wants to go in it. Another accident waiting to happen! I do hear the talk around town. I wonder who will be the Glorified Rescuers the next time?? Maybe this time they will totally destroy the cave.
BAD KARMA!! BAD WAY TO HAVE HANDLED THE AFFAIR!!
JEC
PS If Mr. Lyon would check his dictionary he would find out that a documentary is supposed to be based on facts. I for one hope that when it comes out it will be. Should be interesting!
PPS We did NOTHING because we weren’t looking for fame and fortune. We are CAVERS!
