A cave diver in South Australia is missing, presumed dead, after disappearing down Australia's longest underwater cavern.
The female cave diver was in Tank Cave, a seven-kilometre cave near Mt Gambier in South Australia's southeast, when she was reported missing about 1.45pm (1415 AEDT) on Sunday.
The diver's body has not yet been found but a recovery team has identified the likely area in which her body will be located.
"They have identified an area she is likely to be but they haven't actually seen her body," a spokesman for South Australia Police said.
If it is deemed possible, Cave Diver Association members will attempt to locate the exact position and recover her body, police said.
The age or name of the diver has yet to be released
