Colorado cavers to meet, encourage interest and share research Rocky Mountain SpeleoSeminar on Saturday Caitlin Coleman, For the Camera
There are people in Boulder, including professors at the University of Colorado, who dress in dirty clothes or scuba gear and don climbing helmets with head lamps in preparation for a day at work. They are speleologists, or cave scientists.
While some people are interested in caves for the adventure and exploration that they present, others are deeply involved in the study of cave minerals or the biology and microbiology of a cave. On Saturday, the ties between speleology and exploration will be examined and encouraged at the Rocky Mountain SpeleoSeminar, a public event at CU.
