There are three people stuck inside the Duhlata Cave, they are safe and sound, secretary general of the Speleology Federation Trifon Daaliev has announced. In his words the cavemen are in a good state, they have food and light. Due to the heavy rains they will have to be taken out by the Civil Protection unit. Article

An emergency team is trying to widen the cave’s entrance. A lot of work is still needed until rescuers reach the three men, Focus news agency reported. Officials said that the operation could continue tomorrow but the life of the three explorers is not endangered. Rescuers managed to establish a voice connection with the three explorers, who confirmed that they were fine. The three men have sufficient amount of food. Sofia’s State Agency for Civil Defence (SACD) received the emergency signal on the morning of May 21. The rescue operation began immediately. Article
