Road closure meets possible speed bumpAbigail Cukier, Stoney Creek News " While 180 acres of karst land in the neighbourhood is protected, councillor Brad Clark and another group of residents are leading the charge to have the area expanded and turned into a provincial park. "It would really be a shame if after the province did the right thing and preserved the karst as a rare geological formation, if the karst gets destroyed because the province allowed their land to be developed," Mr. Clark told the Stoney Creek News last week. Much of the development planned for the area bounded by Highland Road West to the north, Second Road West to the east, Rymal Road to the south and the proposed extension of Trinity Church Road to the west, was cancelled after the discovery of the Eramosa Karst - the 13,000-year-old karst features a series of caves, dry valleys and sinking streams caused by dissolving limestone."
