Alachua geology to be discussed at meetingSeptember 21, 2006 ALACHUA – Area residents are invited to learn about Alachua geology at a Sept. 26 karst information meeting from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Alachua Woman’s Club. Participants will learn about karst geology, the Floridian aquifer, the particular geology of Alachua and how such areas can be safely developed. Those who attend also will learn what they can do to help and what resources are available. The event is sponsored by the Cave Diving Museum and Library. Attendance is free but donations are appreciated to help with costs. The Alachua Woman’s Club is located at the Corner of Main Street and Northwest 146 Avenue in Alachua.
