Is this supposed to be a joke? We actually HAD two MO-Rons who did exactly this in a cave about 30 minutes away from me and about 16 years ago. They went in a collapsed back entrance of a gated cave, and were discovered by the local VFD wearing nothing but their tighty-whities (no longer very white) inside the gated entrance next to a road, yelling for someone to come get 'em because they were COLD.
You live in redneck country you find all sorts of things in the shallow end of the gene pool.

I thought it would be a bonfire for a little bit into the story. This was at least a slightly brigher idea then that.
Hey, I have on half a dozen light sources right now!

Is this supposed to be a joke? Well I saw the humor in it! ;D From the perspective of a rescue person this indeed would be humorous in that they would not be expecting such a sight. I am sure they were all relieved to find the buffoons safe and sound but seeing them in that condition would be quite amusing. The part that strikes me is that they did make use of the resources they had to survive and try to make it out of the cave. At least they tried and used a reasonable method. Had they known more about hypothermia they may have chosen a different way to pass the time. benm - I am glad that you at least have learned from their buffoonery! I just wish more first time cave explorers would carry more than a flashlight and a bic lighter!

I'm wondering if boxers from noxious cavers would make more light, because of the extra fuel added to'em from F.A.R.T. emissions
