This year's Caverns of Sonora Restoration will be held on Saturday, November 12th, 2005. Normally I announce the date by mid-September but I've been out of the country for some time and when I returned the owners were initially too busy with flood evacuees to figure out which date worked best for them.
For details on what the project will involve, visit the TSA website:
www.cavetexas.org/sonorar.html
The announcement there is from 2002, but the information is basically the same except for the dates. There are 70 slots to fill and I'll hold 10 for out-of-state cavers until midnight this Saturday, October 8th. Please remember to contact me ASAP if you need to cancel.
One last note, for the past few years I've sent notices about the project through CaveTex. I greatly appreciate Judy and Tom White's dedication and efforts to make that service available to all cavers. However, if you are not aware, CaveTex has been retired and efforts are being made to get everyone to sign up with texascavers.com. Since I don't know how many people are signed up on that server, I will send this notice through it and to as many Texas caver e-mail addresses I have readily available (my advance apologies to those of you who might get this message more than once as I post it to various and overlapping address lists). Next year I will only make the announcement though texascavers.com as I did with CaveTex. Many thanks to Bill Bentley for his work to make this service possible. To sign up, visit:
mail.texascavers.com/mailman/listinfo/texascavers_texascavers.com
Thanks,
George (Veni)
PS: Please feel free to distribute this message to any person, server, newsletter, entity (domestic or extraterrestrial) you feel may be interested.
