I guess this would be considered a Caving Publication. Anyway, I have been reading the 1891 online diary of Alvin McDonald and thought other cavers might like the link. From what I have read so far it is well worth a read, espically for those interested in cave history, as it is a facinating cave journal about the cave exploration of Wind Cave. Young Alvin McDonald explored mapped and named alot of the rooms in the cave and recorded his cave explorations in his journal! The Diary of Alvin McDonald, "Chief Guide" of Wind Cavewww.nps.gov/archive/wica/McDonald_Diary.htm

Yes it is indeed a good read. Only trouble is on my Mac it downloads each pdf as a seperate file to my desktop instead of just opening it up. Now I have the whole collection of pdfs! I guess I will combine them all into one big file for better reading. Great link Lynn!

Wow, I really enjoyed reading the whole caving journal. Did anyone else read the whole 1891 Alvin McDonald diary?
