Nikon and Cannon are coming out with new serious hardware. Nikon is releasing the D3 with all sorts of new stuff, including noise free 24x36 sensors up to 25,000 ISO, a 51-point AF system, and lots more- 12.1 Megapixel $5K!! Cannon is releasing their 22 Megapixel model -the Canon EOS-1Ds Mark III, 21.1 megapixels, 24 x 36 sensor, 3” LCD viewing screen, $7K!!! Start saving your pennies now boys and girls... press.nikonusa.com/cameras/digital_slr/d3/www.usa.canon.com/templatedata/pressrelease/20070820_1dsmk3.htmlThese things are obviously the pro models and have every conceivable option it seems. I imagine semi-pro versions with less stuff and similar resolutions will follow soon enough. Sine we just got a D200 I guess the D300 will come out about the time the "new" wears off of the D200! Cameras are getting like computers - you can't stay current for more than a day or so!

Oh well I don't have to wait... The D300 is already being sold (or at least ordered). Lookee here: www.adorama.com/INKD300K2.html?searchinfo=Nikonn%20D300&item_no=6$2K!! The horrah! Well it comes with a lens but whew! It doesn't appear to have a full size sensor like the D3 and 12.1 Megapixle resolution. I'm sure it's a great camera though. One thing I like about these new units is the ability to hook them straight to a monitor. Sweeet! That would make it really nice to assure you are getting sharp clear photos.
