Left out Thursday, for a weekend of caving in TAG Country. After stopping by to pick up Jon Cammon, at his moms house, we left out for Scottsboro Mountain and set up camp. It rained on us on the way there and got to the mountain to find all the wood wet.
We both rode over to Wal-Mart, rode to back of the store and scavaged for cardboard. We figured, if we could find some dry, we could get the fire hot enough. We did find some and the plan worked.
After getting our fire hot enough, we settled down for the evening.
The next morning, we headed over to Fort Payne, Al. I had a appointment to meet with the Housing Authority to look at a appartment. I found a single unit appartment that I liked and signed the papers to move there in the first week in December. I might need help moving up there, because I don't think I am going to get any help from my family to do so. If any cavers have any trucks, want to make the trip down here, and help me, move up there, I will be greatfull. I will also treat anyone that helps, to a Spegetty Dinner afterwords for thier help.
After that was through with, me and Jon headed over to Rustys Cave. Jon has never been there before and I wanted to get a few pics of the Formations in the cave. Jon liked the cave.
Saturday, me and Jon headed over to Limrock Blowing Cave to help out with Kids Newby trip. The cave was cold and wet, but always fun to do. That evening we joined other cavers on the mountain to view the Metor Shower, which was a DUD. I believe the FAA called it off due to a terorist threat-LOL. Only one was seen.
Sunday, found me and Jon again helping out with another group at Tumbling Rock Cave. I awoke with a tooth ache. It got worse as we went futher into the cave. About the time we hit the Wildcat Rock Pile, I was starting to get sick to my Stomach. I decieded to let the group go ahead with Jon and I headed out. I made it out in 25 minutes. I got into some warm clothes, took a pain killer, and took a nap. I started to feel better after awhile.
Beside the tooth ache, it was a nice weekend anyway. It sure will be nice to be a new caver living in the heart of TAG. Later.
