Weekend Caving:On Saturday May 20, a crew of 12 cavers along with the landowners made the trip to Indian Rock Cave (AJK 535) in Boxes Cove, Alabama. This trip came about due to the landowners wish to see the rest of the cave. Not having vertical skills to accomplish this, they called upon the grotto for assistance. Dan Mattle and Jimmy Romines met up with the landowners early Saturday morning to teach them basic rappelling and ascending technique. Dan teaching the landowners The other 10 of us joined them a couple of hours later for a day in the cave. The landowners graciously hosted a barbeque at their home following the trip. A nice end to a fun cave trip. Sunday (May 21) was spent bluff bouncing at Palisades Park. Julie Fee, Scott Fee, John ?, Lee Burnett Lee Burnett ascending with newly acquired frog system, made by Birmingham's David McRae. Dave also makes Dirty Daves kneepads.
