I went to my first Fall Cave-In this past weekend and was able to go to Byers Cave. Does anyone know where I can find a map, history, or pictures of this cave. I would like to see just what part of the cave we covered. I went through the small passage to the borehole room. It was pretty exciting.

The cave is owned or leased by the SCCi so maybe they have more inof for you. Go to www.scci.org to find out. You could also join the Georgia Speleological Survey (GSS) if you were so inclined and maybe get the info from them.

I've already been to SCCI, their website doesn't have much. I have one map of the cave, from the GSS, but I was just wondering if there were newer ones; or if anyone had pictures of the cave.

Hi Josh! Welcome to the Forum! I would think the Georgia Speleological Survey would probably have the latest draft map of Byers Cave. Is the cave map you have not up to par or something?

I didn't have a chance to look at it before my friend took it. He should e-mail me a scan of it soon.

Ok now I understand. At first I thought something might have been wrong with the cave map.

Has your Byers research turned up anything interesting yet?
