Ugly barriers to protect bats
The editor:
Without consent of the taxpayers of Kentucky, a popular tourist cave at Natural Bridge State Park has been closed to free public access in hopes that a colony of endangered bats could be established there. This closure was accomplished by erecting ugly barriers across the entrances, and constructing the only gate in a way that makes it nearly impossible for older people, handicapped people, and large people to enter.
