Pond in Lower Macungie won't be fixed by deadlineBy Randy Kraft Of The Morning Call (PA) June 24, 2007 Residents concerned about sinkholes. Supervisors refuse another extension.Repair of a leaking pond in the Legacy Oaks development won't be completed by the June 30 deadline imposed by Lower Macungie supervisors. On Thursday, a lawyer for the Barness Organization, the developer, predicted the work may not be finished until the end of August and requested another time extension. The developer faces $500-a-day penalties if the work is not completed by the end of this month. Residents of the 112-home development wanted the pond along Willow Lane fixed before the end of 2006. Some fear sinkholes beneath the pond will enlarge and threaten their homes, because thousands of gallons of storm water are draining into the holes. Full Story
