Hey all, We went on a cave location exploration in McCreary county Kentucky last Monday and we thought we was finding the Eureka cave. After we got back and was looking again at the USGS map of the area we realized the cave was on the other side of the creek bed.
Does any members have info on the Eureka cave. We think we may have a new entrance to either an existing or possible new cave . I noticed a lot of wash inside what little area I looked at. I would bet the water level of the Cumberland lake normally keeps this creek in water. So therefore this cave could have been under water and could very well be a new possibly unexplored cave.
If anyone has ever been in this area please contact me. I am also wondering if the possibility of this entrance connecting to some of the 26 miles of Sloan's valley cave up to the north of this area.
I believe, from research, that Sloan's has a lot of water in side it. If the water levels are down this could very well be access to some of it.
If you or anyone you know has info on this please let me know.
Thanks again
