Caverns hosting talk on GPS, geo-caching
Lewis & Clark Caverns State Parks is hosting a program on GPS and geocaching on Friday, Aug. 10.
“GPS: Are We There Yet?” begins at 7 p.m. at the campground amphitheater. Attendees will use a GPS unit on site as they discover the world of geo-caching. Steven B. Hamilton, scientist and high school teacher will lead the program. He will supply several devices (but bring your own if you own one) to develop a firsthand experience for all willing to participate.
A staff member of the park for over 10 summers, Hamilton knows the best spots for a cache without harming the site. Also as a recent geo-cache enthusiast, he is able to warn of pitfalls and to create a variety of challenges.
For more details call Lewis & Clark Caverns State Park at (406) 287-3541.

I just hope they discourage using caves as geocache locations as I feel it tempts people inot exploring them without any preparation. Also it would serve to make more cave locations known to people that might not treat the caves properly.
