It's a Canadian Hershey plant so maybe the bad stuff stayed up north instead of further south. I imagine they still make tons of Hershey candy in Hershey, PA (I've been there once long ago - the whole town smelled like chocolate) so hopefully it is what is sent thoughout the US. We'll all have to keep an eye out for tainted chocolates though! Makes you want to go on a diet!

I thought this was going to be a joke when I first read it. Guess it is good that they are still looking for additional sources of the bacteria so more people won't get sick.

Infected Peanut Butter Fallout ContinuesMidstate Lawyer Says Cases Will Continue To Emerge NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- The fallout from the peanut butter scare a few months ago is only beginning to be realized in middle Tennessee. A Franklin attorney said he has documented four deaths from salmonella poisoning in the midstate alone. Eighty people in middle Tennessee are now part of the class action lawsuit following four deaths stemming from eating salmonella-infected peanut butter. Michael Shepherd said the old and the sick are the ones that have been done the most harm from the disease. “These deaths have resulted from the ingestion of peanut butter by people that are weakened, people that are elderly, people that are alone at home using peanut butter as kind of a snack. We’ve been a little surprised by the number of death claims that have resulted from the ingestion of the tainted peanut butter,” he said. Source: 4 News
