More DeKalb militia explosives believed hidden in caveDeKalb County sheriff's deputies and Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco Firearms and Explosives agents plan to search a cave in Collinsville this morning for more explosives in connection with last week's raids on members of the Alabama Free Militia. "They have received some information that there are explosives hidden in a cave somewhere in Collinsville," said Stanna Guice, assistant to DeKalb County Sheriff Jimmy Harris. I sure hope the search partys attempt to tread lightly in the caves they search. Perhaps someone from one of the cave surveys can assist them (if they haven't been contacted already). I would hate to see harm done to land owner relations, caves, or cavers through this ordeal.

Here's an article Tim. Federal, Local Agents Call Off Search in DeKalb County CaveFederal and local agents scoured the area in and around a cave in Collinsville all day Tuesday, looking for a possible stockpile of explosives. The cave is off of Highway 11, in some woods behind the property of Raymond Dillard, one of the men said to be in the Alabama Free Militia, a group arrested last week. Agents say they were looking for hand grenades and other explosives Dillard may have stored in the cave. However, they did not find any such items after an extensive search, and called the operation off. The search teams took their time, fearing there might be boobytraps set around the cave. Dillard did have boobytraps set around his home that they busted last week. Full Article

Woa Dudes! I friggin glad they didn't do something totally bogus like blow the cave shut in fear of it being an ammo dump or what-ev! Man some people have like zero respect for mother nature. That's some really bogus activities around caves. If they want to make war on the feds they oughta do it away from caves at the friggin least! Chuckie sez: "Save the Caves - Save the World"
