(9/19/07 - KTRK/HOUSTON) - At least 11 Texas Southern University students will have to get rabies shots. City health officials say it's possible that number may increase. Up to 20 students came into contact with the bats that have infested Lanier Hall. That bat problem forced TSU officials to move more than 200 students out of that dorm and into a hotel. The bat infestation was so bad, students were using brooms and tennis rackets to try and get rid of them. abclocal.go.com/ktrk/story?section=local&id=5665052

There are videos of the students trying to and sucessfully killing these bats on youtube. Rather heartbreaking if you are a bat lover. If you notice in the video, there are several ceiling panels ajar in the hallway. My guess is the students stirred the bats up by being typical kids. If they were adults, they wouldn't have had the problem with them that they did.
