Batsnatcher a boon for conservationists Jul 26 2006 Daily Post CONSERVATIONISTS are using a "hi-tech" way of counting bats in some of the remotest parts of Wales. Helped by university experts the Countryside Council for Wales is testing a new Batsnatcher system. And it's already been trialled at the entrance to one roost - the home of under-threat lesser horseshoe bats - in the Conwy valley. According to Dylan Lloyd, CCW monitoring ecologist, the results of the month-long operation at a farm in Llanrwst are "very promising". The Batsnatcher will now be switched to a site in South Wales.
