We are interested in Cingulars cell phone coverage at TAG. I am sure various companies differ in coverage up there.
TIA

Someone else may have the answer as to cell phone coverage at the TAG site, but I noticed when driving to the site a couple of weeks ago that two new cell phone towers have been added atop Lookout Mountain since last year. This may have improved coverage from past years.

Message regarding the 29th TAG Fall Cave-In from Darien Dopp, Dogwood City Grotto Chair.
Hello everyone,
Okay ... it's finally here!! It's time for the Cave-In. I am sending this out because I need all of your help. It has come to my attention that there is a rumor going around that we won't have a munchie stand. Well, I am going to dispel that rumor. We will have a munchie stand this year. We nailed down all the details and they will be there. The menu will be similar to what you are used to, with the added bonus of homemade BBQ. I have sampled it and it is really good.
Many things have been planned. Some new ... Some old ... All fun!! We can't wait to see you all again.
Darien Dopp Chair, 29th TAG Fall Cave-In
Now, here is where you all come in. Help me spread the word. Post this message on your respective mail groups. Tell anyone you think might like or need to know.
Thanks!

Here is a photo of Kevin Glenn, a.k.a. graveleye, performing at the Friday night open mike session. I met both Kevin and his wife afterwards. He is the only person from the U.S. Cavers Forum that I saw perform, though there may have been others. I wanted to watch the Team Thor '06 slide show and only caught a few of the acts. The Thor slide show was set to music and included video clips of the team. Very well done.

Did you get any rain Sharon? I've been watching the weather and it looks like the East coast has been getting pounded.

We had approximately 30 minutes of rain just after dark on Thursday night. Then some cooler air blew in, which was a welcome relief and made for better camping weather. Thursday during the day was way too hot for this time of year. Daytime temps on Friday and Saturday were still warm, but much more pleasant than Thursday.
More on TAG to come later....

Unfortunately we had to miss TAG this year, so we can't wait to see more T.A.G. photo's and read some reports!

Here's a few more pics to get started, and I will post trip reports and caving photos later on. Maybe others will post their photos too. Adding the finishing touches to the Friday night Bon Fire. The zipline for little cavers was a big hit all weekend, as well as the panning for gems on Saturday afternoon, which adults enjoyed also. Unfortunately, we missed the Saturday morning obstacle course and vertical contest due to having gone caving.

Sharon it was GREAT to meet you Friday night! I'll admit I was bone tired, cold and pretty sacked out after a long day. We turned in early that night and boy it was chilly!!
I'm telling you, that was the most fun I have had in years though... after my poor muscles stopped aching sometimes on Monday, I felt like a new man!!
I wish I could have met every single person there - we did make a lot of new friends though, and we added another caver to the ranks with my wife making her first cave trip. She caught the bug!!
This might not seem too manly of me to say, but I was standing out with the huge crowd, the bonfire blazing into the sky, when suddenly I was just overcome with this feeling of "This is what life is all about!!". I think I got one little tear in the corner of my eye. *sniff* LOL

Hi graveleye and welcome to the forum. It was a pleasure meeting you and your wife also and I'm glad to hear you enjoyed the Cave-In. Guess that means you'll be coming back next year. If your wife has been bitten by the caving bug too, I'm sure we'll bump into each other long before then while out caving around TAG. Even among caving events, which are all full of caving, fun, and socializing in general, the TAG Fall Cave-In is a unique experience. ;D
