An animal conservation group on Wednesday said it would sue Interior Secretary Ken Salazar's office for failing to act to protect two species of bat in the northeast hit hard by a fast-spreading, lethal disease called “white nose syndrome.”
According to a release from the Center for Biological Diversity's Vermont office, the group alleges that Salazar’s office missed a required deadline to respond to a petition for the species.
