Losing Sight of Progress HOW BLIND SALAMANDERS MAKE NONSENSE OF CREATIONISTS' CLAIMS. By Christopher Hitchens Posted Monday, July 21, 2008, at 11:34 AM ET It is extremely seldom that one has the opportunity to think a new thought about a familiar subject, let alone an original thought on a contested subject, so when I had a moment of eureka a few nights ago, my very first instinct was to distrust my very first instinct. To phrase it briefly, I was watching the astonishing TV series Planet Earth (which, by the way, contains photography of the natural world of a sort that redefines the art) and had come to the segment that deals with life underground. www.slate.com/id/2195683/

He's got a point . Anyone else remember catechism in which men are dewinged angels. and demons are fallen angels? Even if God made us in his Image, maybe some mistakes were incorporated along the way. The little fidgety bits, like neglecting to put a back on the moon. Eyeless salamanders and fish are the result of Childhood attempts at animal design which failed, but lived. Man, there's a novel in that thought...
Maybe the direction of evolution parallels entropy, and someone needs to tell Sisyphus that it's all downhill from here.
