I experienced Mammoth Cave's wild cave tour almost two years ago and became hooked on caving. Their trip only whet my appetite for more exploration and cave photography. Since that original trip, I have visited Pettijohn's Cave in GA seven times covering various routes and Limrock Cave in AL for photography. I met Al Hess of the Dogwood City Grotto during a trip in Pettijohn's, and he became a great resource. He suggested I join SCCI (in progress) and begin networking with other cavers for trip ideas, new locations, and caving groups. I live in Roanoke, AL (a rural town hours away from active grottos), and I have a group of ten friends that join my cave trips (four are serious about pursing the sport further). We currently stick to horizontal routes, but I have thought of pursing vertical caving later this year (with proper training and support). Any direction on joining a group, gaining advice, and exploring new locations would be appreciated. You can email me at bradtreadwell1900@hotmail.com or check out my website at www.bradtreadwell.com.

Thanks for the info. The Gadsden Grotto would be the most convenient (1.5+hrs instead of 2hrs). I tried contacting Jim Loftin (Chairman) several days ago, but I haven't received a reply. I'll try sending again.
