Protesters clash with construction workers at Langford highway construction siteBill Cleverley, Victoria Times Colonist (BC) Published: Friday, February 29, 2008 Protesters erected a tree-top camp in the wood between Leigh Road and the highway a year ago to protest the $32-million interchange project. The project cuts through the woods in which they were camped. The protesters say the construction is destroying the ecosystem and threatening Spencer's Bog and several karst features, and it's feeding urban sprawl typified by the Bear Mountain golf course and residential resort development.
