The Southeastern Cave Conservancy, Inc. (SCCi) is a tax-exempt not-for-profit corporation (501-c-3) dedicated to cave conservation, caver education, and cave management. It was formed by a group of southeastern cavers in 1991, and currently has more than 800 members. Membership is open to all persons interested in caves and cave conservation. One of the SCCi's primary activities is the acquisition of caves through purchase, lease, easement, donation, or management agreements. Potential acquisitions are carefully evaluated. Presence of endangered plants or animals, significant geological and hydrological features, wilderness quality, threats from development or exploitation, and access issues all play a role in the evaluation process. We also work with other organizations to develop educational programs to teach people about the importance and value of cave and karst ecosystems, geology, and hydrology. Donations may be mailed to: Southeastern Cave Conservancy PO Box 71857 Chattanooga TN 37407-0857 Become a SCCi Regular or Sustaining Member or see SCCi Merchandise and Donation Programs

On October 13, 1994 the Texas Cave Conservancy was officially formed. This non-member, non-profit, 501 (c) (3) Texas corporation is dedicated to the protection of caves, cave life, and aquifers as related to caves. We work through public education, scientific research and cave management by assisting land developers, municipalities, other non-profit organizations and private land- owners in the protection and management of caves. Currently, we are involved in cave management activities in over fifty cave preserves in the Austin, Texas area. Over one hundred and fifty caves are protected. There are over one thousand known caves in the urban areas throughout Texas. Some of the best caves have already been destroyed. As development continues, the goal of the Texas Cave Conservancy is to save as many caves as possible through the establishment of parks and preserves. Much of our income is from the design, construction, and the management of cave preserves. As a non-profit organization, our consultation is provided at no cost to the cave owner. We, as a trailblazing conservation organization hope to continue to grow, protect and preserve the local cave environments with support from the caving community and the general public.
