A land swap has added another cave system to the World Heritage Naracoorte Caves National Park. The cave was lying beneath plantations managed by ForestrySA. But now the important fossil deposits can be studied and compared to those in other Naracoorte caves, with implications for the understanding of megafauna extinctions. Naracoorte Caves Manager Steve Bourne said it was a pretty good arrangement as he has gained a cave in exchange for some grazing land that will be now used to establish pine plantations. Article
