MITCHELL - There will be a special event on caves and caving at Spring Mill State Park, Aug. 26 and 27.
The premier of “Cave Biota” in the campground amphitheatre highlights the weekend. A joint project of the Hoosier National Forest and the Indiana Karst Conservancy, this video presentation features spectacular images of Indiana caves and cave life.
Visitors can also discover the entrances to Whistling and Wind caves or even get a little muddy while exploring the dry side of Donaldson Cave. Participants can talk with a trained cave rescuer and check out some of his equipment. More information is available by calling the park's nature center at 849-4129.
