Sinkhole not to blame for restaurant evacuation, just water leak

MILTON, Fla.
Faulty plumbing rather than a sinkhole was to blame for shifting floors and walls that forced a restaurant to evacuate about 25 customers and employees last week, the general manager said Monday.
Authorities initially suspected a natural spring probably caused a sinkhole to open under Ollie's Neighborhood Grill after tests showed water flowing from beneath the structure Thursday lacked chlorine used to treat city water.
Ollie's general manager Warren Mills said a broken pipe later was found to be the problem but that ground beneath the building and sunlight apparently had filtered out the chlorine. He expects to be back in business in a couple weeks after repairs are completed.
