Hey all, Does anyone know where I could purchase carbide in or near north Georgia? I live closer to Chattanooga but I can go to Atlanta if need be or anywhere in between. Thanks, David

Thanks Brian, That was fast! I've been out of the loop for awhile and I did not realize IMO had actual pickup service. I'm actually new to TAG. My sons interest in caving brought me back. I just needed a spark to get me going again. David

Hey David welcome to U.S. Cavers Forum! Also I seem to recall a supplier that was in Chattanooga, but if memory serves me correctly that one went out of business. Maybe another caver remembers the one I am talking about and can give more info?

There is a "caver introductions" thread in the caves and caving section at the top of the forum. We like to hear about other caver's experiences and history. Enjoy the forum!

A friend of mine use to purchase his Carbide in 50 LBs drums at Caver Connection, in the back of the Ace Hardware store, in Chickamunga, Ga.
They might still carry it.

Inner Mountain was at Crawlathon and they are great people. They had carbide in 1 gallon cans for $20. I'm not sure how much it weighed but I'm sure it was 2 or 3 pounds or so. If you need them to ship it costs a whole bunch more because it is considered a hazardous material.
