Nope never.
IMHO, the light depicted in the video looks less than desirable to me. But I have a tendency to like a very bright light when I am caving. ;D

At least ten years ago, Tom Cravens of MVG concocted a laser bat counter out of laser pointers mounted on some sort of stable base. We used it to count the ceiling by sector, by assigning each person in the party to count the bats only in their sector. Worked pretty good. We weren't using it for light-- just for making red lines on the ceiling. (presumably, being red light , no bats were harmed in this experiment.)

Welcome to the discussion board, Novedan. I think I'll stick to a helmet with a light mounted to it, but I have used lazers during survey before. It looks like it might work as a backup or third light source in case of emergency. The lazers I've played with are red and really give off that much light.
