Yeah, It's definitely the same cave mentioned earlier in the thread (the White River Cave). I did send Mason a pm the morning before we went, I also tried calling the phone # that he placed on this thread... no response on the pm yet, and no answer on the phone that morning. I've been quite busy since and haven't tried again. I spoke with the cavers @ work and told them about WRC and I think we're going to go back sometime soon and maybe explore some of the more technical aspects of the cave. Having the kids with me last time, I was more interested in their safety than I was interested in finding every nook and cranny. Anyway, thanks for the warm welcome and I'll be back here again from time to time. (My passion is Mountainbiking and that's where I spend most of my pastime... visit www.sorba.org ... however, Caving definitely will be finding a slot in my "what to do when not mountainbiking category") Later, Scott

I find it is best to try to contact the landowner a week or so ahead of a trip. I think the best time to contact Mason may be during the weekdays so you may want to do that before you plan to visit.
Mountainbiker, eh? sounds like fun. Have you checked out a local grotto yet?

Mountainbiker, eh? sounds like fun. Have you checked out a local grotto yet? Yeah big time moutainbiker... wife and kids too. As for the grotto, not yet, but I have been pointed in that direction from my friend @ work (Rebecca), she goes by "tadpole" on this forum. We'll check it out soon, I'm sure. I'll definitely try to reach Mason again before we go, the last time kinda was last minute and more of an after thought. My dad and nephews were intown and we drove to Rockmart to ride bikes on the Silver Comet, then it occured to me to take them in the cave... all happened within a couple days. They loved it though. My dad already is wanting to bring my mom back up here (they live on the Gulf Coast--Mobile,AL) and take her in there... I told hime that I know of much nicer caves (not all graffittied), but he likes that one because he could stand up through most of what we saw... cool with me, it's just 15 minutes away.

Scott:
I hope you had a nice time. Sorry again that it took a a week or two to get back to you. I certainly appreciate your help with a clean up. It's an-going effort. For now, we are stiling clearing old (and unfortunately new) debris. Hopefully, in the near future, we can begin cleaning the graffiti. I'll contact you when we organize a clean up.
