Hello Cavers - here's my Introduction! My intro is very similar to Dr. Beaner's post but may vary a bit.
Anyway, I have been caving mainly in the TAG, U.S. area for 16 years now along with my caving buddy, Dr. Beaner. We have ventured out of the U.S. one time to work on the Grotte (cave) 16 Archaeological Project in France and also were very fortunate to be able to visit the real Lascaux Cave. We began organized caving with HR3 and for approximately the first 5-6 years we just caved with our friends, ridgewalking and discovering new caves, then surveyed and mapped almost everything we came in contact with. Some years later we discovered there are a lot of different types of caving that could be done such as; cave archaeology, cave biology, cave history, cave conservation, cave restoration, cave protection, cave photography, cave air flow studies, and the list goes on, so we became involved in all these aspects. I have been an National Speleological Society NSS Member for many years now and currently belong to three grotto's in the southeastern caving region. Am also a member of many of the other local, TAG, Regional, National caving groups, like SCCi, SKTF, NSS Cave Conservation & Management Section, etc.
I enjoy the added contact with cavers and that's part of why I help as one of the Admins of this caving forum. I really enjoy reading all the Cave Trip and Caving Expedition Reports! Y'all keep 'em coming!
I look forward to reading all the other Cavers Introductions! ;D Caver 2 Caver
Lynn
