Did I ever mention I hate caving in cave dust? No not the regular run-of-the-mill dust in caves .... but I bet you know the dust I'm talking about ......."The Dust ". The kind of dust that resembles very fine 'talcum powder' type dust. The "when you move kind of dust' -- that even the slightest amount of movements forms a huge cloud eruption that resembles a nuclear bomb. The 'kind of cave dust' you can still taste -- even days later. It's 'the kind of dust' that get in your nasal passages and is still there three days later. It's 'the kind of dust' that covers your glasses so quickly you think you are going blind and start stumbling around while moving along in the cave. 'The kind of dust' that every moving part of your body gets coated with and grinds against every other part of your body. Kneepads become sandpaper slowly removing the body hair they come in contact with as you move through the cave. It's 'the kind of dust' that causes "your hair to stick together" kind of dust. 'The kind of dust' makes your cave gear form billowing clouds of dust even days after the caving trip. Yeap 'the kind of dust' that you have no choice but to inhale and it enters your lungs and causes you to cough and hack for days. Yeah that Cave Dust! Yesterday I was caving in the dust bowl from hell and man do I hate the Cave Dust!!! I will be elated when we complete the mapping and survey of this particular cave!

Yes it was dusty. I inhaled so much dust I still raise a cloud of dust passing gas! Well - that's my excuse and I am sticking to it. ;D

We don't have cave dust in Missouri. The hodags sprinkle them every 12 hours, and they get a flush-through every couple weeks or so. So we only have 57 kinds of cave mud/clay/sediment.
