A group of seven visited Limrock Blowing Cave this past Sunday, August 27. Thany Mann had set this trip up for the purpose of collecting Pseudanopthalmus beetle specimens for Dr. Barr. In addition to Thany, Tommy Royston, the SCCi property manager for Limrock, Brian and Lynn Roebuck and their six-year-old grandson Adam, Casey and myself were on the trip. With a 6-year-old and 4-year-old assisting, I'm not sure how much help Thany may have found us to be, but a handful of the elusive little beetles were collected. And the trip offered an educational opportunity mixed with caving fun for Casey and Adam. For the record, I did not even see one of the tiny, flea-sized beetles until after others had already caught them, but I did have an enjoyable cave trip. ;D
