Dropped a pit with...... - Trip Report

my wife today.
It was her first pit to drop.
We both had a great time.
This pit is a nice little 80 ft free fall close to the road.

Oh yeah I also got permission to go in a new cave!!
Though I might be able to wait till next week to go in but just might have to go tomorrow. ;D

Thats awesome! Was it her first time? Do you each have your own gear or did you trade off? Where's the pictures?

About that other cave... Why wait till tomorrow?

Yeah it was her first pit to drop.
We dropped two ropes so we could both go down at the same time. I had her clipped into me with a cow's tail just incase something went wrong.
I have to down load the pics from the camera . I will post them soon.

As for the cave . I could not find anybody around here to go back with me so I will have to wait another day. Don't like caving by myself. Not to safe.

Sounds like a great day Tncaveres! Can't wait to see the pit photo's! ;D

Over the weekend we had a lot of family members in town and so we wound up taking non-caving family members to Alabama's Cathedral Caverns for the commercial cave tour. A couple of ladies on the tour were having a bit of difficulty on the way out of the cave so I walked with them to assist them if needed. It is a great tourist cave but I would have much rather been caving.

Who else has a good cave trip to tell?
