This past Saturday, June 10, Tommy Royston led a group of 16 cavers to the Iron Hoop entrance of Jess Elliot Cave (AJK 323) for a fun day of caving. After the climbdown entrance and three hundred feet or so of climbing over breakdown, another two or three hundred feet of hands and knees crawling/stoop walking thru stream passage, we reached the huge and highly decorated borehole passage. During the trip we saw half a dozen large crayfish in the cave, though all were of normal pigmentation, and one of the biggest frogs I've ever seen inside or outside a cave.
