This is an interesting article about Hugh Falconer, but exceeded the character use number for the board. So I snipped a couple of highlights and added the link for those who wish to read the full article. Tributes to a forgotten Scots pioneer GRAEME SMITH September 16 2005 "HE was one of Scotland's most influential scientists whose work helped close friend Charles Darwin write his theory of evolution." "He was particularly interested in elephants and he collected fossils of a variety of different species. He was also responsible for investigating remains in a number of cave systems in England and in Central Europe which had been inhabited by humans in prehistoric times. "It was through this work he was feeding into the work that Darwin and others went on to do which established that the antiquity of the human species was in direct opposition to Genesis, chapter one, of the Bible. www.theherald.co.uk/news/47091.html
