Has anyone used the Black Diamond Lunar Headlamp listed in campmor. I was just curious is the battery times match. I would like to have a good headlamp but can't afford a $60 price right now.
Anyone with info can post or message me.
Thanks again

I haven't used that light but I do have a Princeton Tec Apex similar in many ways. Batteries do last a long time compared to the old incandescent lights of old. There is a cave gear section in this forum you may look at. Here is a link to it since you may be interested in reading more: Cave Gear & Speleo-VendorsHope this helps out a bit.

I own a Black Diamond light, but not that one. I see it uses 3 AAA batteries and I only purchase lights that take AA's. I'm not a fan of AAA batteries, and having light sources that all use the same type of battery, makes it easier to pack spares. I don't think you could go wrong with a Black Diamond. Their quality is good and their product is reliable. I like the price too.

My husband has the Black Diamond 4 LED version. (We have a virtually endless supply of AAA batteries available to us). He also has a Wheat lamp, and though the BD does not rival the light output of the Wheat lamp, it is infinitely more reliable and portable, and lot less battery hassle.

Another great feature with these lights is the low weight of the system and no annoying cords and bulging battery packs for all the tight spots. They are so small and light they also make great backup light systems. I wonder how awesome LED lights will be in ten more years?

I have the Black Diamond 5 led headlight, It works wonderful, however it doesn't project a beam very far. That is why I was considering one of the other black diamond lights the might project the beam and be a little more focused.
Thanks for the input on the subject.
The Black Diamond (moonlight I think) that I have isn't available at campmore anymore, or at least I can't seem to find it to compare the specs.
