Not sure if anyone will be interested in this request, but maybe someone on here would like to contribute to this writing project: -------------------------------- Kentucky cave/caving stories needed Posted by: "Ruth Rogers (In high school--Velda Allis)" ruthplay@scrtc.com rutba200 Thu Oct 26, 2006 7:56 am (PST)
Hi, I'm a new member, and I am hoping you can help me with a project I'm doing. I am a retired college teacher, and I'm compiling a book called KENTUCKY MEMORIES: Yesterday and Today. It has a chapter titled "Notes from Underground" that is for stories about caves and caving. What I do is edit the stories others write, and I compile them into this large book. It will be around 500 pages when complete.
I have a good bit of information already on Mammoth Cave, but I'd like some stories about some caves in other caves of Kentucky. Your own experiences as a caver would offer some good stories, I'm sure. What about your first experience exploring a cave? Some legends and history of caves would be welcome.
Think about it and contact me, please, if you might have a story for me to consider. Just conversational style is what I like best--the way you'd tell your stories to a friend or around a campfire. Anybody can do this. Don't be concerned about grammar, punctuation, etc. Just share your story. I'll appreciate it.
Thanks a lot!
