So you want to experience caving? Your first stop for more information should be the premiere caving organization The National Speleological Society (NSS), Huntville Alabama, U.S. Further reading can be found in the National Speleological Society Bookstore which is the primary caving bookstore for all cavers and those interested in caving in the U.S. A good place to first experience caves is by visiting a show cave. The U.S. Show Caves Directory will help you explore the unique and wonderful world of caves and caving located throughout the U.S.A. If you decide to start wild caving you will need special equipment to cave safely. The Boston Grotto website has a great list of Caving Suppliers which Kevin Harris compiled. The Cave Conservation Division has great information Minimum Impact Caving Code Also many new cavers find joining a local caving club or Grotto beneficial.
