Sat. 7-7-07 met with tncaveres for a preview/ field survey of Harrison saltpeter cave, getting ready for the up coming moch- rescue in there, layed out a couple of ideas, and got something of a plan, we then headed over to another near by hole, to get some entrance photos, and ended up finding, a redneck- cave ladder, and I must say this one seams like a decent idea, "old tire chains/ snow chains, after parting ways with Rodney, I met up with Roger, Terri and rogers son Cash, to go investigate another hole, it turned out to be fools gold, we then headed to Robinson ridge saltpeter to do some in cave field work, it went well, we toured some of the cave took some pics, and called it a day, on my way home I stopped by a cave from my past to get an entrance pic, Sun. 7-8-07 met with J & B, and headed of to Indian grave point, after making the short( wish there was a drive way up) hike to the entrance, and a long brake to catch our breath, we toured the cave, and discovered a few things, (1) not much trash, compared to most times (2) the rope up to lake superior is no longer safe, a rope and 2X4 ladder has been placed along side it, but it don't appear safe either, (3)some one has started a dinosaur collection @ the register (4) WE DON'T LIKE THE HILL IN 90+% WEATHER! but all in all it was a good day and a good weakened, Rodney and the snow chain ladder Cash checking out some flowstone J & B @ cascade dome the dinosaurs

rodney/ wayne, I would be happy to post the pic of you two half way out, but it turned out so fuzzy you probably dont want it, it was poor enough quality that I cant even save it after enhancement, we can go back some time and try again if you like. maybe wait at the bottom a little while to cool off so there wont be so much body steam interferance also.

rodney, I could be wrong, but I believe that is called worm hole coral, its an impresion fossil of the tubes that used to house a worm like coral, its the closest thing I could find in my books that looks like it, any way, it could also be a bryozoa called sea mat,

6- 24- 07 window cave with j&b, Steve, roger, ray, Terri, josh, and Jeromy, every body had a good time, the trip went off well, saw lots of salamanders, lots of formations, and Steve falling off of a wall 8ft above my head down to 8ft below my feet, right on to his back, lucky for him his pack cushioned his fall , the guy is lucky and tuff all at the same time, he continued exploring for another hour or so then made his way out of the cave, down the trail, and drove himself home, then later went to the hospital to find out he had lightly bruised his lower back and, moderately to severely sprung his ankle, two days of elevation at home and he's back at work, climbing ladders, lifting stuff, etc, with a light limp, and a smile on his face every time some body asked if he was going to do Jackie Chan impressions any more, and in his words, "no more of doing my own stunts, at least not in that spot" all in all it was a good day, in a nice cave with good friends, thank you to the cave gods for the good stuff, and no rescue needed, here are some pics from the trip ladder time main hall j&b in the back sally with j&b OK,, sal, and he's checkin out j b in the back j in the back sal in the main hall

we did have fun, and they will be leaving me behind , they wanted to venture this weekend, in to one of the leads, but I wouldn't let them , until they get vertical and some one else close to there size can be there, I didn't think it was a good idea, they wanted it bad though, they loved every minute of the trip even the crawls and climb up / downs, watched and learned then took of like pro's, Lynn you might want to explain, T.W.A.T. and NSS info with all the other cave pamphlets and bat books etc have been given, we are hopefully headed out to start some vertical training soon, and if I'm not mistaken they are also eager to learn survey, maybe they can be part of the S.C.S.T.( small caver survey team) I'm trying to build for sections of the cave the rest of us cant get to, after doing some investigative rock throwing( I.R.T.) this weekend, they are eager to follow the echo, there is something new and interesting about it this weekend, you may want to phone me about, and if they can get in they have chosen a name for the pool of water we hear dripping, in there, Sherri named the tight spot orgasm squeeze, so in suit follows J & B's wet spot,

if your talking about the pit on the back side of peanut butter crawl, thats not where the photo's going to be, not enough room back there for every body, and to much body heat will steam out the pic, the photo will probably be set up in one of the large rooms, the pit drop pic I'm wanting to do will be in the twins, multiple caver's on rope, all from different angles dropping at the same time, Ill show you Sunday if you make the trip.

new caver Jlynn and her room-mate Becky met up with Steve, Jonathon, and myself today for a trip to cedar ridge crystal, it turned out to be a nice day even though I'm still a little under the weather, this cave always lifts my spirits and having new caver's along, that are eager to learn, makes for an even better trip, I look forward to more trips with them, and here are some pics from today, Jlynn Becky Jlynn bacon Becky bacon some of the pics are a little fuzzy but still good, the ladies had a good time as did we all, and so long as they are willing to be in front of the camera I'll be posting more of our trips, I'll even try to post more formation pics next time in the interest of fairness to the caves, PS: Jlynn & Becky, welcome to tha' D.A.R.C.
