How The Nature Conservancy undermines property rights and expands government control
What began as a benign effort to allow financially strapped property owners to receive tax benefits in exchange for specified development rights, has morphed into a government land grab. The chief culprit here is The Nature Conservancy (TNC), a well-funded 501(c) (3) organization founded in 1951 that is closely partnered with the federal government.
Interesting article Lynn, thank you. TNC is closely associated with the federal government. It is also interesting that they maintain a strong and growing presence in many other counties.
No doubt a part of their agenda is to strengthen ties with various governments and officials. It is just easier to do business this way. Of course this is often a means to make things "happen" in a more timely manner. Since they conduct business all over the world, I wonder if their partnership with all governments isn't more of a lobbying relationship, lip service being paid to federal and local regulations.
