Caver, but since I'm new to the forum, I'll take a chance and suggest a third alternative: Cavernaut. May sound corny to you pros, but I'm speculating on off-world caving. Imagine cave diving on Jupiter's moon Callisto. A story of mine, based on my modest experience diving Ginnie, is in the current issue of "Analog: Science Fiction, Science Fact". Actually, it's the March 2009 issue, but it hits news stands December 23. There will be a discussion of the science on the Analog web site at www.analogsf.com next week, I expect. Had I found this site sooner, I'd have vetted it here! Maybe next time. Anyway "Cavernauts" is the name of the story. I don't want to breach protocol by pitching my web site, unless that's okay.

I'd rather be called a caver, but to be honest, I'm a spelunker at heart.
