Cave archaeology will be featured in an episode of the series "Digging for the Truth" beginning this Monday (Sept 3). The series appears on the History Channel. For those who may not remember, the subject of this episode is the ancient Chachapoya people and Atumpampa Cave, which were included in a feature article published in the February 2006 issue of the NSS News. The NSS News article was authored by caver Steve Knutson who was on expedition in Peru at the time of the filming. Knutson has led a number of cave expeditions to Peru over the last decade. Sharon ------------------------------------------ Digging For The Truth : Mummies of the Clouds Five hundred years before the Inca, a remarkable band of warriors called the Chachapoya built the greatest stone monument in the Americas.
