Here's a couple of caving related announcements from News-Leader.com ..... Springfield Plateau Grotto works in tandem with public agencies and private landowners in better understanding caves and fostering a growing awareness of the importance of conserving the cave environment. Meetings are held at 7 p.m. the second Wednesday of the month at the Library Station. Call Jonathan Beard at 887-7231 or Roy Gold at 443-0441 or visit www.spgcavers.org. The Ozark Highlands Grotto is an organization of cavers involved in the study, exploration and conservation of caves and karst features. Grotto members explore, survey, restore and protect caves in the Ozark plateau and other areas around the country. Meetings are held from 7 to 9 p.m. the first Wednesday of each month at the Library Center, 4653 S. Campbell Ave. Contact OHG president Eddie Simmons at 736-3195 or visit www.ozarkhighlandsgrotto.org. Outdoor Listings

That's interesting. Advertising cave conservation and grottos. Hopefully some good information will flow to the public and maybe a few cavers will become part of the larger organized group. It's good to share some of our knowledge with others to help our caves and groundwater be protected as they should be.
