I've heard a cave clean up is scheduled for the Sunday after the SERA winter business meeting. Can anyone provide details about where/when the cleanup will take place? Thanks! ;D

Hi Jennifer One of the SKTF members announced at our December grotto meeting that they were sponsoring a roadside cleanup on Orme Mt. Road, located in the Russell Cave Watershed on Sunday, February 19, following Saturday's WBM. No other details were given at the time. Lynn went out of town over the holidays, but should be back in a day or two. When she gets back she may be able to provide more information on the clean up.

The SERA Karst Task Force (SKTFI) decided to begin the Russell Cave Watershed Clean Up, an area encompassing 16 square miles, with Orme Mountain Road on February 19th, 2006 at 10 AM. (The day after the SERA Winter Business Meeting) It is known that the cave is impacted due to local dumping of trash in the watershed. Russell Cave repeatedly has tons of trash that washes into the cave and so SKTF wants to eliminate the source of the trash then the trash can be cleaned from the cave. The SKTF project leader for this clean up is Peter Michaud. Feel free to contact Peter for more information. Ths is a great project! Looking forward to seeing everyone there! Lynn
